Working in the field of Information Technology (Software Developer in a Denmark based MNC), K M Thakur, aka Gunjan Shree, started his literary journey with a Maithili magazine as a sub-editor. Since then, he has written more than 500 poems, many short stories, and various articles on literary criticism, which has resulted in positioning him among the leading writers of his age and time.
Extremely passionate about rejuvenating his mother tongue Maithili, he started a monthly literary meet "Sahityik Chaupadi" in Patna (Bihar) in the year 2015 along with a few like-minded friends, where budding writers are guided, inspired and promoted to excel in the field of literature. He also has the credit of editing a few notable magazines as a sub-editor like Kramshah, Sahityik Chaupadi, Desil Bayana, Sakhi-Bahinpa, etc. His remarkable work 'Classical Fusion of Vidyapati', a musical album, has been instrumental in promoting Maithili culture and music.
While pursuing his academic degree, as a budding entrepreneur he started an online e-commerce portal along with three other friends for the easy availability of Maithili books.
As an author, 'Tarhatthi Par Samay' (Collection of Poems, Navarambh Prakashan, 2019) is his second published book.
Working actively with the Global Shapers Community (an initiative of the World Economic Forum), Gunjan is the outgoing Curator and Impact Officer of the Patna Hub of the organisation. He is also a young Climate Reality Leader (CRL) from India of 'The Climate Reality Project', USA.
